What you'll work on:

Payroll Responsibilities

  • Shape the vision, strategic direction, and tactical roadmap for the Payroll function at Clio;

  • Oversee the operations of the Payroll team, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the team's goals and objectives;

  • Hire, develop, and manage a team of Payroll and Benefits professionals;

  • Oversee a documented system of payroll policies and procedures;

  • Oversee compliance and timely reporting of all payroll and payroll taxes;

  • Works closely with Director of Payroll and Compensation Manager to ensure a unified Total Rewards experience for all employees;

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies;

  • Act as a subject matter expert for our Payroll and Benefits Team, People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition team, and hiring managers in conversations and decisions related to payroll legislation and payroll processes;

  • Represent Payroll on the Finance and People Operation Teams and, as needed, in front of the Clio Executive team.

Benefits Responsibilities

  • Developing, delivering and administering benefits programs to enhance Clio’s Total Compensation strategy to competitively attract and retain top talent;

  • Managing full-cycle administration of benefits, including liaison with benefit brokers and insurers, leading the annual re-enrollment process, and maintaining benefit records and policies

  • Improve and maintain an efficient, well thought out, informative leave of absence program for employees

  • Overseeing short-term and long-term disability management and workers compensation claims and records

  • Ensuring all leaves of absence programs are clearly defined and follow local legislation

  • Acting as the point of contact for benefits, and leaves of absence to ensure a positive employee experience

  • Interpreting and providing guidance on benefit inquiries, and applying best practices for benefits programs and policies

  • Managing that our Benefits premiums are recorded, taxed and reconciled in our Payroll software correctly

  • Managing employee education for benefits and retirement/savings programs

  • Manage Benefits in the new HRIS to ensure records are entered and correct in the system

  • Supporting the Director of Payroll and Compensation Manager with Survey Studies on Compensation & Benefits, where needed

  • Keeping up to date with industry trends and best practices in the rewards and benefits space

What you may have: 

  • At least 2-3 years of Manager experience

  • PCP designation

  • Ability to work on routine and non-routine tasks and project work; 

  • Ability to problem solve and make recommendations for decisions 

  • Advanced knowledge of excel and the use of formulas

  • Ability to teach and knowledge transfer to the Payroll team

Serious bonus points if you have

  • CPM designation

  •  Workday Experience
