Sarah O’Carroll is a business and media executive known for her insightful leadership, entrepreneurial impact, and global influence in shaping the business narrative through some of the world’s most recognised media brands.

As Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Australia since 2022, Sarah led the brand’s entry into the Australian market. Under her leadership, Forbes Australia has rapidly scaled across print, digital, and experiential platforms, launching signature events such as Forbes 30 Under 30, the Business Summit, Women’s Summit, and Investors Summit, while also establishing a national Forbes Women membership community to elevate female leadership across sectors.

Prior to Forbes, Sarah served as Editor-in-Chief of Yahoo Finance Australia, where she relaunched the brand in 2018 and grew its reach to over two million monthly users. Her innovative content strategies and inclusive economic storytelling led to the launch of initiatives such as the Women’s Money Movement, The Broke Millennials, The New Investors series, and the Australian debut of the All Markets Summit.

Her early career includes editorial and leadership roles with LexisNexis, News Corp and Private Media, along with founding her own content strategy consultancy, where she advised businesses on narrative development, brand positioning, and audience engagement.

In addition, Sarah is an experienced presenter and host, having led on-stage interviews at major business and investor summits and hosted on-camera series including “The New Investors” and “Drive with a CEO”

Originally from Drogheda, Ireland, Sarah holds a degree in International Business and Languages from Dublin City University, a postgraduate diploma in journalism from Griffith College and executive leadership certificate from Monash University.

Ever since beginning her career as a finance lawyer, Caroline has been passionate about empowering legal teams to adapt and thrive in delivering value to their clients and colleagues.

Caroline transitioned into innovation and technology roles at global law firm Allen & Overy (now A&O Shearman) in London. She has led and contributed to a wide range of projects including the implementation of new business models and processes, the development of technology solutions to enhance efficiency, and the coordination of training programs to strengthen digital capabilities.

An expert in project design, Caroline specialises in:

Caroline has completed the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance Professional training through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and is a member of the AI Forum’s AI Governance Working Group.

Caroline is increasingly focused on helping in-house legal teams navigate the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence, tracking developments locally and globally to guide teams in moving forward both strategically and practically. She is passionate about building AI fluency and capability, supporting organisations to address the people, data and process dimensions of responsible and effective adoption.

Caroline is a mentor with TechWomen and a regular speaker on the intersection of law, technology, and transformation — covering themes such as cultural and human shifts, legal operations, change leadership, and diversity, equity and inclusion.

Jennie Pakula is Principal of The Lawyer’s Friend, a legal and consulting firm that helps lawyers practice confidently and well, deal with their regulatory concerns and obligations and serve their clients better. Jennie worked in legal services regulation from 1994-2023. She held a wide variety of roles, including senior management roles, her favourite being one where she read and triaged over 14,000 client complaints. Jennie has gained unparalleled expertise in legal profession regulation that is now available to law practices throughout Australia. She has a great love for the profession and is excited about the possibilities for increased access to justice through developing technologies. Jennie particularly loves encouraging and helping lawyers in small firms – especially those who want to do things differently.
