Being a mobile designer and front-end developer at Clio is exciting, challenging, and most of all, fulfilling, knowing that the product you help create can make a significant impact on the lives of our customers. As a Clio mobile designer, my job is more than just making things look pretty.
It involves modifying complex functionality into easy to use interfaces that can streamline our users’ experience with our product. I was tasked with writing a blog post describing my ‘typical’ day, but the neat thing about being a Clio designer is that there really isn’t an accurate depiction of what constitutes ‘typical’.
We could be sketching and brainstorming user interface designs one day, to mocking up wire frames the next, to discussing each others’ designs, or figuring out how to implement the interface we come up with. Sometimes, we will attend training sessions or will fly across the country to talk to our users at various conferences. When we want to take a break and relax, we have the opportunity to participate in yoga, boot camp, or challenge our colleagues to a friendly game of foosball or ping pong.
The best part about working at Clio is coming to work every day to smart, motivated individuals who are all incredibly passionate about what they do. There is a never ending abundance of learning opportunities and growth geared toward our personal and professional goals. I started off working on the mobile team without any prior knowledge of how to create an iPhone app.
