Canadian law firms deserve more than generic solutions. They deserve technology purpose-built for Canada, backed by real investment and a team that understands how law is practiced here.
Clio was founded in Canada in 2008. Today, we support over 150,000 legal professionals worldwide. With more than 1,000 Clions working across Burnaby, Calgary, and Toronto, our roots in this country run deep. So does our commitment.
That’s why I’m thrilled to take on the role of General Manager for Clio Canada and lead our renewed and expanded focus on Canadian law firms.
When I stepped into this role, I launched a three-month listening tour across the country. I met with legal professionals, industry partners, consultants, and law societies—in boardrooms, at desksides, and over coffee.
The message I heard was clear: Canadian firms want local, responsive solutions that solve real problems, not software shipped over the border.
And that’s exactly what we’re delivering.
Clio’s cloud-based platform gives law firms everything they need to deliver the seamless, responsive experience today’s clients expect, from intake and document management to billing and payments. With our built-in legal AI assistant, many Canadian firms are already reclaiming valuable time by offloading routine tasks like summarizing notes, drafting emails, and planning their day so they can focus on the work that matters most.
We’ve made major investments to support firms across the country:
We’re also growing the team behind the technology. That includes expanding our product, design, engineering, and support teams in Canada, so legal professionals can work with people who understand their needs. From remote regions to urban centers, we’re building tools that reflect how Canadian legal professionals actually work. If you’re already using Clio or considering the switch, we’re here to make the process smooth and supported from day one.
From the beginning, Clio has been committed to transforming the practice of law, not just for lawyers and staff, but for the clients who rely on them. That work continues here in Canada.
We’re proud to support Canadian Bar Associations and Law Societies in their educational programming. We’re also an approved trust accounting solution for the Law Society of Alberta. You’ll see our team at more events across the country, connecting directly with firms and legal professionals who are ready for change.
And there’s more ahead. We recently announced our intent to acquire vLex, the global leader in AI-powered legal research. This represents a transformational opportunity to connect the business and the practice of law in a single platform.
The Canadian legal market is vibrant, sophisticated, and ready for what’s next. We’re committed to being your trusted partner in building more efficient, client-centered, and future-ready law firms.
Visit our Canadian website to explore what’s possible. Whether you’re transitioning to the cloud, curious about AI, or just want to learn more about our plans for Canada, my team and I are here to connect.
