When the firm at Ponting Hynes Lawyers, were looking for a suitable practice management solution, they were clear on what the firm didn’t need: overly complex, expensive software. Having previously used Smokeball, the costs became uneconomical for a firm of their size. Since onboarding with Clio in June 2024, the Queensland based firm at Ponting Hynes Lawyers, has quickly adapted to the platform and has improved its firm’s overall productivity. Through Clio’s Tasks Feature functionality specifically, the team have been able to save ample amounts of time that they are able to invest in other areas of the practice.

“I run a busy practice and have had to learn to delegate more. The tasks function helps me stay on top of things, it’s saved me a lot of time, which I can now spend growing the practice.“

As the firm expands its service offerings such as Property Law, Wills and Estates, Commercial and Litigation, Natasha is exploring more of Clio’s features to support that growth. 

“We’re currently trialling Workflows to see how they affect productivity. Our main goal is to improve productivity and streamline our processes.”

With Clio, Ponting Hynes Lawyers has also enhanced:

 

  • File Management: The ability to save emails and time entries directly from Outlook ensures accuracy and saves time
  • Billing: Time recording is seamless, especially from notes or directly within Outlook, so nothing gets missed
  • Integrations: Xero and InfoTrack have further streamlined financial and document processes, making it easier to manage disbursements and invoices.
“Clio has some great features that if you take the time to learn them they will make a huge impact on the overall efficiency for your firm.“

The firm found Clio’s onboarding process very simple. The instructions for migrating their files from Smokeball were clear and easy to follow, and the support they received made their transition smooth and stress-free.

“If you’re not tech-savvy, I’d highly recommend Clio. I am not tech savvy at all and I’ve even been able to work it out!“
