The Clio Cloud Conference brings together the brightest and most inspirational minds to share insights and news from around the world. It’s a curated forum, aimed at helping you step up your practice and emerge as the industry leader you are.
This year, the Clio Cloud Conference will feature an inspiring keynote presentation by Kimberley Motley, an international legal industry superhero, famous for her work in Afghanistan where she runs her private practice. Accustomed to working with Fortune 500 companies, national ambassadors, and disadvantaged individuals alike, she carries a devout passion for justice that’s caught the attention of many around the world. A proclaimed global investor of human rights. Kimberley’s International Legal Practice invests about 25% of its revenue on probono legal representation globally.
Kimberley fights for the rule of law and believes that it was created to protect everyone, her stories and insight reflect this. She brings to the stage a vast diversity of experience, including the successful defence a six-year-old child bride, a 15-year-old girl raped and imprisoned, and a British ex-soldier accused of bribery.
As a former beauty queen, crowned Mrs. Wisconsin in 2004, Kimberley is no stranger to the spotlight. Her dedication to the rule of law — and using it to protect those in need — has caught the attention of CNN, BBC, NBC, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, The Guardian, The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, and many others. She’s spoken from the international TEDGlobal stage, and was the focus of the award-winning documentary Motley’s Law. She’s also written several articles for magazines and is currently working on a book covering her experiences in Afghanistan.
According to Vanity Fair, “Many NGOs have valiantly taken on [helping Afghan women] in the last decade, but no Western woman has actually gone on to litigate for them in the courtroom. [Kimberley] Motley did. She would take on desperate cases, often making them high profile by means of clever publicity and social-media tactics. She works these cases pro bono and has not lost a single one.”
