Custom fields are an incredibly powerful tool in Clio, allowing firms to store and sort the information they need on a per-client, per-matter or firm-wide basis. By using custom fields, firms are able to easily enter and collect any additional information not included by default on the contact card for Matter information screen.
Not familiar with Custom Fields? You should be; you can read more about them here. Clio customers are now able to filter Contacts and Matters in their respective tabs by utilizing our new Custom Field filter. By using the filter, users can narrow which Matters or Contacts appear in their display based on the values entered into those custom fields.
It sounds simple, and it is. To filter Contacts by Custom Field, go to the main Contacts tab within Clio and select ‘Filter’.
The Filter option will allow you to add Custom Fields to narrow the search results. You can add a Custom Field filter by clicking ‘Add Custom Field’. You’re then able to add the Custom Field(s) you’d like to filter by You can add as many Custom Field filters as you’d like: there’s no limit!
