Clio Earns Coveted Spot in Canada’s Global Hypergrowth Project

Legal technology pioneer Clio joins the inaugural cohort of Canada’s Global Hypergrowth Program with ambitions to expand its global footprint

Clio, the world’s leading provider of cloud-based legal technology, is one of eight companies chosen in the inaugural cohort of Canada’s Global Hypergrowth Project. This is an exclusive program designed to accelerate growth of anchor companies in Canada with ambitions to scale globally.

“Our mission to transform the legal experience for all extends to a global community of legal professionals who have a profound impact on the lives of people around the world,” said Jack Newton, CEO and Founder of Clio. “Through the Global Hypergrowth Project, we aim to accelerate our expansion into new markets and countries, while creating impactful careers here in Canada and abroad. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate, grow, and excel on the global stage.”

The Global Hypergrowth Project is powered by Innovation Canada, within the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Economic Development. The Ministry, along with a selection panel of top business leaders in Canada, reviewed Clio against a set of comprehensive criteria to demonstrate how the company is operating sustainably by managing risks and opportunities related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. As a result, Clio was selected as a top company in Canada, suited to the global acceleration programs available across government agencies and partners.

“Canada wins when cutting-edge companies keep operations, profits and jobs here at home. And when they scale up around the world, they signal that Canada is open for business,” said The Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development. “With the Global Hypergrowth Project, we’re doubling down on Canada’s most promising firms, to help them scale up, from here.”

With customers in more than 100 countries, we know there’s a global need for a cloud solution like Clio,” said Newton. “In collaborating with the Global Hypergrowth Project, we aim to accelerate our expansion efforts, and work with our government partners to ensure Clio’s entry into new markets and jurisdictions is successful and sustainable.”
