Clio, the world’s leading provider of cloud-based legal technology, has been named one of BC’s Top Employers by Mediacorp Canada Inc. The award celebrates companies offering innovative programs and workplace models that help employees make the most of their time—a core component of Clio’s human and high performing workplace culture.
“Flexibility is the ultimate tool employers have to create exceptional workplace environments,” said Lyndsey Dyer, Vice President of People at Clio. “How we foster the best possible circumstances for employees to thrive in is going to be unique to each person. At Clio, we implement the tools and programs to help our people structure their time in the way that makes sense for them —and we don’t think that excelling professionally should be at odds with life outside work.”
Clio’s Distributed by Design framework gives employees more freedom and support to work from wherever is best for them. This includes:
- The choice to work from one of Clio’s hub offices located in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Dublin, remotely from home, or a combination of both
- Temporary remote work options for employees who wish to enjoy short term working in an alternate place or country of their choice
- A one-time $500 allowance to outfit home offices and a $150 monthly wellness benefit employees can use towards their remote work and wellness needs
Clio also launched a Flexible Paid Time Off program, which goes beyond the traditional vacation model. Employees can decide when they need time, how much they need, and which holidays they wish to recognize and celebrate. In launching the program, Clio has committed to ensuring its employees have the means to integrate their work and life in a way that lets them rest, recharge, recuperate, and balance their personal lives outside of work.
Clio’s award-winning culture continues to evolve as the company scales its workforce to more than 750 employees throughout Canada, the United States, and Ireland. As Clio continues its rapid growth trajectory, it is expected to grow to 1,000 employees in 2022.
This award adds to the impressive list of recognitions Clio has been proud to accept over recent months, having just been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for designing one the nation’s best workplaces and programs that focus on intentional and meaningful connections. Recently, Clio was also recognized by Fast Company, Waterstone Capital, YWCA, Eluta, and Deloitte for exceptional corporate culture, innovative programs, industry leadership, and top management.
