Clio Commits to Training 25,000 Legal Professionals on Legal AI

A new industry-wide initiative to support legal AI expertise at scale

Clio commits to training 25,000 legal professionals on AI by ClioCon 2026 through the launch of the Legal AI Accelerator, the legal industry’s largest AI training initiative to date.

Clio, the global leader in legal AI, today announced a commitment to train 25,000 legal professionals on legal AI by ClioCon 2026, alongside the launch of the Legal AI Accelerator, its flagship education and certification program.

As legal AI rapidly becomes a core competency for legal professionals, the Legal AI Accelerator provides a structured path to AI fluency through guided practice, certifications, CLE-eligible education, and peer learning. The program represents the legal industry’s largest AI training initiative to date and advances Clio’s mission to transform the legal experience for all by helping legal professionals build the AI capabilities needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving profession.

AI competency has gone from differentiator to baseline in the last year alone. State bars are codifying AI use, mandatory AI CLE is on the horizon across the United States, and clients are starting to ask about firm AI policies. The Legal AI Accelerator is built to help legal professionals keep up. The program features 65 days of guided practice, peer cohorts, and CLE-eligible sessions, all free and structured around real legal workflows rather than abstract lectures.

“Technology only transforms an industry when people know how to use it. Legal AI is creating entirely new ways to practice law, and we’re investing in education because we want every legal professional to be able to participate in that future.” said Clio’s Lawyer-in-Residence, Joshua Lenon.

The Legal AI Accelerator is built to meet legal professionals wherever they are in their AI journey. Structured pathways are tailored to different levels of AI maturity, from beginner to expert. Participants can take advantage of three new free certifications, monthly content drops and challenges, in-person Clio Connects events in Chicago, Charlotte, LA, and San Diego, and a continuous calendar of CLE-eligible virtual sessions.

“Every advancement in legal technology creates a choice: concentrate expertise in the hands of a few, or make it accessible to many,” continued Lenon. “The Legal AI Accelerator reflects our belief that learning the fundamentals of legal AI should be available to every legal professional. That’s how we transform the legal experience for all.”

The AI Accelerator runs from June 15 through August 31, 2026. It’s designed to meet legal professionals wherever they are in their AI journey through guided learning, practical application, and community events.
