Clio named one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for the sixth consecutive year

2023 Best Managed Companies are celebrated for their rigorous innovation and world-class business management

Clio, the world’s leading provider of cloud-based legal technology, is pleased to announce it has qualified once again for Deloitte Canada’s Best Managed Companies Award, Gold Standard, in recognition of its industry-leading performance, global business practices, and sustained growth. Following six consecutive years of maintaining its status as a Best Managed Company, Clio is recognized as a Gold Standard winner once again in 2023.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Canada’s Best Managed Companies award highlights private Canadian-owned companies with revenues of $50 million or greater. To attain the designation, companies are evaluated on their leadership in strategy, culture and commitment, capabilities, innovation, governance, and financial performance.

“We’re honored to once again be recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies,” said Jack Newton, CEO and Founder of Clio. “Receiving this award is not just an acknowledgment of our success but also a testament to our commitment to providing exceptional and innovative legal technology to more than 150,000 legal professionals. Today, with more than 900 employees globally, I am immensely proud of this world class team, and I know this award will continue to motivate us to drive forward our mission of transforming the legal experience for all.”

This recognition comes on the heels of a year of sustained growth for Clio. Earlier this year, the company celebrated its 15th anniversary and announced its expansion into the APAC region, beginning with Australia, as it seeks to meet the global demand from customers using Clio in more than 100 countries across the globe. In June 2022, Clio became Canada’s first legal technology company to achieve centaur status, a title reserved for private SaaS companies that achieve more than US$100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR).

“To become a Best Managed Gold Standard winner is a huge accomplishment,” said Lorrie King, Partner, Deloitte Private and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. “Companies such as Clio who attain this high standard of excellence demonstrate consistent resilience, versatility, and strategic acuity. Year after year, they thrive in a competitive, rapidly changing market. This year’s winners should take pride in attaining this prestigious award in recognition of their significant and ongoing contributions to Canada’s business landscape.”

Canada’s Best Managed Companies’ applicants are evaluated by an independent panel of judges with representation from program sponsors and special guests. To learn more about the award, please visit www.bestmanagedcompanies.ca
