Founded by former U.S. Department of Justice trial attorney Steven Amir Hemmat, the Hemmat Law Group operated as a productive solo practice for decades. In 2019, however, the family law firm began to grow and expand. First, COO John Avi Socha joined the team. Next, the Hemmat Law Group team began to look for ways to improve firm performance through technology and support their vision of growth.

In 2021, the law firm transitioned to Clio’s ecosystem of products by adopting Clio Grow and Clio Manage. Later, the firm was also among the first to implement Clio Payments.

With the flexibility of Clio Grow’s API, Hemmat Law developed a custom intake interface designed to capture information while applying unique qualifiers to make it easier for the team to prioritize follow-ups.

Hemmat Law uses dynamic questionnaires that guide potential clients through a step-by-step digital intake experience, which also lets them measure how committed clients are to the process. They integrate the process with Clio Grow, so that all of the information they collect gets captured in their system, including how much of the workflow they completed. This helps them gauge commitment and how to prioritize their follow-ups when the lead pipeline is crowded.
