Scope & Data Access
Clio only requests the specific Google permissions needed to power capabilities you explicitly turn on. Depending on which you enable, this can include: sending email as you, and reading and organizing the messages in your mailbox (Gmail); two-way syncing of schedule events (Google Calendar) and contact records (Google Contacts); and access to documents in Google Drive—either broad access, where Clio files and updates documents on your behalf, or access limited to the individual files you select, depending on the feature. Clio enables only the features you actually granted permission for, and you can review or revoke Clio’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Data Restrictions & AI Policy
- No Advertising or Selling: Google data is never sold or used for advertising/marketing.
- Limited Human Access: Human review of Google data is strictly limited to security monitoring, legal compliance, or customer support requests authorized by you.
- Third-Party AI Providers: Where a feature you use sends Google data to a third-party AI provider, that transfer is governed by an enterprise agreement including a zero data retention commitment; the provider does not store your data after your request is processed.
Compliance Disclosure
Clio’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy including the Limited Use requirements.
