Clio’s Jack Newton Announced 2022 BC CEO Award

This year’s recipients were nominated for their exceptional corporate leadership of B.C. companies and institutions

Clio, leading provider of cloud-based legal technology, is pleased to announce its CEO and Founder, Jack Newton, has been named as one of three recipients of the BC CEO Awards.

Hosted by Business in Vancouver, the award celebrates business success in the province of British Columbia. Newton is recognized in the Large Business category for his innovative leadership in steering “one of the province’s anchors in technology.”

“It’s an honor to receive the BC CEO Award alongside other inspiring leaders in the province,” said Newton. “Local entrepreneurs bring a lot to their communities and demonstrate what can be done to uplift our workforce and transform our economy. I share this award with the amazing team at Clio, who have shared the vision and dedication to helping lawyers navigate some of the industry’s most pressing needs for nearly fifteen years.”

In 2008, Newton pioneered cloud-based legal practice management software. With more than 150,000 users, Clio has continued to propel technological advancements in the industry through its innovative products, driven by its commitment to transforming the legal experience for all. The company recently launched a flexible legal payments solution to advance justice accessibility in Canada – emphasizing the critical role of technology in empowering legal inclusivity.

“Jack is an exceptional leader and an ideal recipient for the times we’re in,” said Kirk LaPointe, Editor-in-Chief of Business in Vancouver.

The BC CEO Awards recipients will be hosted at a luncheon ceremony on February 3 at the Terminal City Club.

Newton was recognized as one of the Most Exceptional Entrepreneurs of 2022 at the Goldman Sachs Builders and Innovators Summit in October 2022. Through his Leadership, Clio was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for the fourth year in a row and named among Canada’s Best Managed Companies. He has been awarded some of the highest honors in Canadian business, including Canada’s Most Admired CEO by Waterstone Human Capital, EY’s Entrepreneur Of The Year award, and an Anchor of Business in Vancouver’s BC500 List.
