Mobile-first client portal
Clients can receive push notifications, communicate with their lawyer, and receive case status updates all from their mobile device.
Easy, secure login
Clients signup via a link included in an email from their lawyer. Once setup, clients can access the app securely via Face ID or Touch ID, or their fingerprint.
Mobile document scanning and uploading
Users can scan documents which are then automatically converted to PDF. Documents are automatically cropped and adjusted for clarity. Documents can also be uploaded from other apps (e.g. Mail, Dropbox), or from the device’s camera roll.
Log client communication and documents efficiently
Clients can securely send messages and attachments to you. If a client messages or shares a document with you, it will automatically be saved to their respective matter.
Eliminate unnecessary back-and-forth communication
Clients can check the status of their case themselves from the app. No more back-and-forth emails and calls on basic case updates.
Keep your cases moving
Push notifications are automatically sent to your clients when something requires their attention.
Deliver a better experience for your clients
Update your clients on the status of their case in real time through Clio’s mobile app for legal clients. Make it easy for them to find what they need by centralizing case updates.
Allow them access to their case
Clients can access their case communications and documents at any time, eliminating the back-and-forth communication required of you.
Make it easy to get what you need
Clients can send you files using the app’s built-in document scanner or by uploading images from their camera roll. Because home printers are a thing of the past.
How does Clio for Clients work?
Using Clio for Clients, a client-attorney communication app, law firms can push key details like status and next steps for their clients to access on demand. Clients can scan and share documents, access their case details in a central spot, and message their lawyer or others at the firm.

How do lawyers communicate with their clients?
Lawyers communicate with clients in a variety of ways including email, phone, in-person meetings, and client-attorney communication apps, like Clio for Clients. However, as highlighted in the 2020 Legal Trends Report, law firms using client communication apps are performing better and collecting more revenue than those who are not. This is likely in part due to the client-centered experience that leaves clients recommending the firm to others and because in-app updates and collaboration is more efficient and cost effective for both the law firm and client.
Why is it important lawyers talk to their clients?
A client’s case can be the most important or stressful moment in their lives. They are putting their trust in you and your firm and even if you have things under control, if they can’t see it, they may be left questioning your skills. By enabling them to access their case at any time, and providing updates remotely, you can not only meet their expectations, but exceed them.
