Summary:

Clio’s portfolio of products is rapidly growing. The platform layer that powers this multi product world utilizes a range of technologies covering telecom, data warehousing and visualization, app ecosystem, APIs and developer platforms, SSO and RBAC, license management, customer billing and other capabilities. Clio is seeking a dynamic and experienced Group Product Manager to lead the development and evolution of our platform-layer services and capabilities. As the market leader in legal technology, Clio is committed to delivering world-class solutions that enable legal professionals to streamline their workflows, enhance collaboration, and provide exceptional client experiences.

This role can be performed from one of our Canadian offices, or remotely from the US or Canada or a combination of both. Some exceptions may apply.

What you’ll work on:

As the Group Product Manager for Platform at Clio, you will spearhead the visioning, strategic planning and roadmap execution of platform level solutions that can be leveraged by our suite of products. 

Strategic Product Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the product strategy for the platform layer, aligning with Clio's overall business goals and product demands.

  • Drive innovation and differentiation through the introduction of new features, enhancements, and integrations to maintain Clio's position as a market leader.

  • Lead and inspire a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality platform-layer products.

Product Development and Lifecycle Management:

  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch. Some of the product areas you’ll manage include communication services, external APIs, developer platforms, design systems, data migration tools, user authentication and more.

  • Implement agile methodologies and best practices to optimize product development processes and accelerate time-to-market.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including customers, to gather insights, feedback, and requirements that inform product development and improvements.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, ensuring alignment across departments and effective communication of product goals and milestones.

Market Analysis and Competitor Research:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.

  • Conduct market analysis and research to inform product roadmaps and strategic decision-making.

What you bring:

Experience:

  • Proven experience in building and scaling platform environments like communication services, APIs, developer platforms, design systems, audit logs, customer billing systems, SSO and license management among others, ideally at companies at a scale larger than Clio.

  • 8 years plus experience in product management

  • Product development with a focus on building services that can be used by other applications or products..

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in building or understanding of technologies related to APIs, search, data ecosystems, user licensing and authentication and communication stacks related to telephony, email and SMS.

  • Demonstrated success at delivering and ensuring successful usage of these solutions in a multi product environment. This means deep familiarity with architecting component modularisation and shared data ecosystems so they can be shared across products.

  • Deep understanding of data systems and data migrations from one system to another.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Successful track record of leading far-flung cross-functional teams in an agile environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with legal professionals.

  • Strong understanding of legal tech trends, compliance standards, and industry regulations.

  • Ability to bridge the gap between legal requirements and technological solutions.

  • The expected salary range* for Canadian applicants for similar roles within Clio is: $177, 600 to $288,000 CAD. This role has a separate set of US region-specific salary ranges.

**Please note that the expected new hire salary range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Clio. Our salary bands are designed to reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and to allow room for growth at Clio. For experienced individuals, we typically hire at or around the midpoint of the band. The top portion of the salary band is reserved for employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. Those who are new to the role may join below the midpoint and develop their skills over time. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
