We are currently seeking a Customer Email Marketing Manager to join our Marketing Operations team in Toronto, Vancouver, or Calgary.

What your team does: 

The Marketing Operations team is the center of operational excellence on Clio’s marketing team. It is a centralized operational function with responsibilities of campaign execution, database management and segmentation, reporting and insights, email marketing, and Martech management. We build best in class automations that drive a high performing marketing team. We collaborate closely with Marketing, RevOps, SalesOps, BizOps, and CSOps to deliver cross-functional initiatives.

Who you are: 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing Operations, the Customer Email Marketing Manager will orchestrate the systems, data, and segmentations to design and optimize the customer journey, in close partnership with the Customer Marketing and Product Marketing teams.

The successful candidate will be able to work at both strategic and tactical levels working to bring campaigns to life that drive desirable customer experience and business outcomes.

What you’ll work on:

  • Strategy & Management

    • Drive email channel performance through effective strategy, content, segmentation, project management, and personalization to achieve business objectives 

    • Develop and implement customer email strategies and processes 

    • Work cross-functionally on orchestrating customer emails across the business

    • Translate email project requirements into executable plans

    • Develop and execute plans to grow the marketable email list

  • Data & Measurement

    • Own, report on, and forecast performance of email business metrics including lead-to-opp and product activation 

    • Collaborate on building and managing dashboards and reports in our source of truth platforms

    • Develop strategies for tracking email campaign performance 

    • Collaborate with the business to ensure compliance with privacy laws, like CAN-SPAM, CASL, and GDPR

    • Develop and improve the technology and data infrastructure to facilitate customer segmentation

    • Own customer list pulls for marketing

  • Experimentation & Optimization 

    • Develop and execute against a customer testing roadmap to improve email metrics and customer email experiences

    • Build highly personalized nurture programs leveraging dynamic content, snippets, and/or velocity scripting

    • Share learnings and insights across the business

  • Execution

    • Spend 30-40% of your time executing on MarOps tasks, which includes building emails, target lists, and automations, administering our marketing automation platforms, and completing other MarOps tasks as needed.


What you bring:

  • 5+ years experience developing customer lifecycle, email, and nurture programs

  • Excellent data segmentation, A/B testing, and reporting skills

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills 

  • Experience managing, coaching, and supporting team members 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment 

  • 5+ years experience with a marketing automation platforms (Marketo, Eloqua, Salesforce Marketing Cloud)

  • 2+ years experience with Salesforce

  • Proficient with HTML and CSS

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets formulas

Serious bonus points if you have:

  • Previous experience working at a high growth SaaS company

  • Previous experience managing customer emails at a multi-product company

  • Marketo certified

  • Salesforce certified

  • The expected salary range** for Canadian applicants for similar roles within Clio is: 95,200 - 128,800 CAD.

**Please note that the expected new hire salary range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Clio. Our salary bands are designed to reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and to allow room for growth at Clio. For experienced individuals, we typically hire at or around the midpoint of the band. The top portion of the salary band is reserved for employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. Those who are new to the role may join below the midpoint and develop their skills over time. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
