Clio is more than just a tech company–we are a global leader that is transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.

Summary:

We are currently seeking a Senior Content Writer/Editor to join our Content Conversion and Experience Team in Vancouver, Toronto, or Calgary.

Who you are:

You are an experienced content marketer, a talented writer, and a keen-eyed editor. In addition to top-notch writing and editing skills, you have deep experience in both product marketing and customer marketing, ideally in a B2B SaaS context: You know how to develop content marketing plans and craft copy that positions products for success in-market, highlighting their features and benefits in an engaging and relevant way to your target audience at each stage of their buying journey; and you know how to keep that audience engaged and interested once they have converted to paying customers.

You write and edit quickly but carefully, and you can pivot from writing an email to copy-editing an eBook to proofing a landing page all in a short period of time. You're self-motivated and take initiative, filling in gaps and proactively taking work off your teammates' plates when you see they could use help.

You prioritize impact over perfection, but you know what good writing looks like. You have outstanding editing and proofreading skills that let you capture our style and tone, and ensure consistency across all of our channels and initiatives. You know how to create content that, while optimized for both search and conversion, sounds natural and authoritative.

You also know how to listen to and interpret stakeholder needs, possess superior organizational skills, and have the innate ability to juggle multiple tasks.

What your team does:

The Content Conversion and Experience Team at Clio is responsible for creating and optimizing mid- to bottom-funnel content for both prospects and customers, across multiple channels, including the Clio website, email, paid media, Clio's apps and customer communities, events, reports, print collateral, and more. Our success is measured in leads driven and opportunities created by these channels. We work hand-in-hand with Clio's product marketing, customer marketing, demand generation, growth, events, and creative design teams.

What you’ll work on:

  • Writing impactful content in diverse forms to drive business goals, in formats including web pages, landing pages, emails, articles, guides, videos, one-pagers, sales enablement materials, and more;

  • Partnering with our Product Marketing team on Clio's product marketing strategy, enabling sales, marketing, support, customer success, and other internal teams to tell a compelling story about our products and their benefits;

  • Partner with our Customer Marketing team on Clio's customer marketing strategy, ensuring we're presenting relevant, engaging content to customers that helps them get the most out of their investment in our product, and keeps them interested in investing more;

  • Editing and proofreading the work of your peers, both your fellow content marketers, and your peers in the broader marketing department;

  • Championing content and content conversion and copywriting best practices, and disseminating learnings across the team;

  • Mentoring your fellow writers to help them advance their skills through editorial reviews;

  • Leading large-scale editorial projects that position the Clio brand and team as market leaders;

  • Actively contributing to the way we write about our features and products, and continuously improving what we have today;

  • Research trending topics within the legal and legal technology spheres to help direct content and growth marketing efforts for a variety of segments, regions, and mediums;

  • Evolving editorial and voice and tone standards across our products;

  • Reporting on content-related KPIs, using qualitative and quantitative research to inform your content decisions, and adjusting plans according to past performance;

  • Empowering everyone at Clio to write their own great content by contributing to training, learning resources, and other support opportunities.

What you bring:

  • Speed and agility: Marketing at Clio is fast-paced and demanding. You'll be working on projects and tasks that come quickly, with tight deadlines, and you'll be expected to adjust plans on the fly to execute on tasks in a timely manner.

  • Critical thinking: Clio's fast pace means you'll need to execute on projects even when you don't have as much context as you'd like. You'll need to identify problems and solutions independently and see them through to resolution with little oversight.

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience managing content channels and executing on content needs for a brand, with a strong conversion copywriting and content experience acumen;

  • Content strategy experience, preferably in a pipeline-driven, conversion-focused environment;

  • Demonstrated ability to create, implement, and maintain content standards across an organization;

  • Empathy and understanding for lawyers and their clients.

  • Post-secondary education in communications, journalism, or English

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience in the B2B SaaS space;

  • A portfolio of conversion-focused content work that showcases how your strategy and execution led to improvements in traffic, conversions, leads delivered, and/or opportunities created.
