Clio is more than just a tech company–we are a global leader that is transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.

Summary:

Clio, a leading innovator in legal technology, is poised to revolutionize the legal landscape with the introduction of new products and services. Our aim is to empower legal professionals in their interactions with clients and court systems. As Clio scales its product suite in pursuit of that goal, our product development teams run into both horizontal and vertical scaling difficulties throughout our entire ecosystem.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering leader to help us scale development practices and velocity at Clio. The ideal candidate is someone who can collaborate across the engineering organization to pull together common threads from various engineering domains, foster discussions about how to solve common friction points, and ultimately put their hands on the keyboard to “lead from the front” and create solutions to them. The successful candidate will have a mandate to support and accelerate all engineering efforts at Clio.

What You’ll Work On:

  • Authoring, reviewing, and shipping code across all of Clio’s products. Extraction of patterns and best-practices into global libraries, and then training and advocacy for their use across the Clio engineering organization.

  • Directly supervise, mentor, and collaborate with engineering managers and individual contributors who are in the thick of it every day.

  • Navigate the Clio Engineering department to distill requirements, find friction points, and ultimately deliver impactful solutions that enable Clio’s developers to ship better products, faster.

  • Partner with Clio’s product development teams to support them in ensuring all of Clio’s products meet a high bar for security, performance, reliability, availability and change velocity.

  • Work closely with the recruiting/people team to actively recruit and hire top talent to support Clio’s ambitious growth plans for our infrastructure and development teams.

About you:

  • Experienced senior engineering leader who is still comfortable pushing code to production.

  • Adept at managing and mentoring high-performing teams, nurturing talent, and guiding individuals toward professional growth and development.

  • Proven track record in scaling services and systems.

  • Experienced in crafting long-term strategies and managing technical roadmaps that pave the way for future growth.

  • Capable of running agile organizations at scale and with a sense of urgency to deliver quality software to solve customer problems.

  • Demonstrated experience in promoting positive culture and diversity throughout a large engineering organization.
