Finalists for the 2021 $100,000 Launch//Code Developer Contest Revealed

Today, Clio, the leader in cloud-based legal technology, is announcing the five 2021 Launch//Code Developer Contest finalists who will compete for the $100,000 grand prize at the 9th annual Clio Cloud Conference happening virtually this year from October 26-29.

Each finalist developed an app that pairs with Clio Manage’s robust end-to-end solution to help answer the unique needs of individual law firms or niche requirements of particular practice areas.

“Driving innovation in legaltech is tremendously important to the team at Clio. Our annual Launch//Code Developer Contest allows us to support the next generation of app developers as they invent unique tools and ideas to advance legal technology as we know it,” said Jack Newton, CEO and Founder of Clio. “This year’s winner will join over 220 fully integrated apps in the Clio App Directory, which has become a vibrant marketplace for our customers to find solutions that help tailor Clio to their specific needs.”

The 2021 Launch//Code finalists include:

Candle: A personal injury suite that automates medical record retrieval, simplifies billing, and automates personal injury tasks and reminders. With Candle, Clio customers save time by completing the entire medical record request and follow-up process directly within Clio while providing legal professionals with a simple way to track bills, liens, expenses, and write-offs.

Fidu: A client document platform that builds, systematizes, and delivers fixed-fee and subscription legal services to help law firms scale their business. With Fidu, legal professionals can design a customized client dashboard that syncs with Clio Manage. This dashboard functions as a single source of reference for all client interactions making it easier for firms to stay organized and for clients to access their assigned action items and support articles.

LawDroid Builder: An automation platform that allows law firms to easily intake clients, automate documents, and build scalable tools to support your law firm. With LawDroid Builder, a law firm can build its own custom intake chatbot to qualify potential clients on its website, reflecting the firm’s personality and branding, and win new business. LawDroid empowers solo and small firms to scale their services by automating tedious tasks, reducing overhead costs, and providing performance insights to help lawyers make data-driven decisions in tandem with Clio.

Levitate: Marketing software designed to help legal professionals drive relationship-based business by staying in touch with their clients. When legal professionals use the two-way integration between Clio Manage and Levitate, they can sync all relevant data daily, keep tags and key facts up to date in Levitate, and push notes back to client profiles in Clio automatically. Leveraging Levitate’s tagging functionality will allow law firms to segment email audiences to trigger automated workflows. These segments are most commonly segmented amongst new and closed matters and include outreach reminders, email templates, and campaigns.

TrustBooks: Legal accounting software that helps legal professionals easily manage accounting needs. TrustBooks makes legal accounting easy through workflows built for attorneys and embedded features to keep attorneys compliant with their trust account. The integration between Clio and TrustBooks saves time by eliminating double-data entry and allows for a complete and compliant accounting solution for the firm’s trust bank account.

Finalists will present a seven-minute pitch on their app’s innovation, impact, and business potential to an all-star panel of industry experts where one will be named the winner during the Closing Keynote.
