Summary:

Clio is looking for a Director of Talent Acquisition, R&D to lead, scale, and evolve our global technical talent function. You are a strategic architect who understands that building a world-class Engineering, Product, and Design organization requires more than just filling seats—it requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, a data-driven approach to operations, and the ability to act as a high-level consultant and trusted partner to our executive team. You will lead a high-performing team of Team Leads and Recruiters to deliver the human capital that drives Clio’s mission.

What You’ll Work On:

Stakeholder Management & Strategic Stewardship

  • Functional Architecture: Partner with Clio’s senior leadership team to design and scale a global Talent Acquisition function capable of meeting ambitious multi-year growth targets.

  • Trusted Advisor: Act as a strategic business partner to the CTO, CPO, and VPs, moving beyond "executing" to influence workforce planning, organizational design, and headcount allocation.

  • High-Stakes Search: As needed, personally manage and drive the full-cycle recruitment process for executive, high-complexity, and business-critical technical roles, ensuring a "white-glove" experience for Clio's future leaders.

Team Development & People Leadership

  • Talent Multiplier: Attract, engage, and retain a world-class team of TA Team Managers, Leads, Specialists, and Sourcers. You are responsible for the professional maturity and career trajectory of your function.

  • Performance Accountability: Ensure the team meets or exceeds hiring targets according to plan, while proactively managing deviations and communicating risks to the ELT with a solution-oriented mindset.

Data Maturity & Operational Excellence

  • Reporting Architecture: Own the TA data narrative. You will evolve our reporting from retrospective metrics to predictive analytics that help inform strategic resource allocation and workforce planning.

  • Process Transformation: Research and operationalize continuous improvements to the global hiring lifecycle, ensuring our processes remain frictionless and scalable.

  • Hiring Acceleration: Collaborate with business leaders to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the interviewing process, leveraging data to up-level both hiring velocity and candidate quality.

Market Innovation & Employer Branding

  • Multi-Channel Strategy: Foster a sophisticated, multi-channel approach to candidate sourcing, utilizing AI tools, market mapping, and deep networking within the global tech ecosystem.

  • Employment Branding: Define and execute Clio’s technical employer brand strategy to ensure we are the "employer of choice" for top-tier Engineering and Product talent globally.

  • Integrity & Representation: Represent Clio with professionalism, authenticity, and integrity, acting as a steward of our values and a champion for Design for Diversity in every hiring process.

What You’ll Bring

  • Leadership Excellence: 10+ years of Talent Acquisition experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role managing and developing a multi-layered technical recruiting teams in a high-growth SaaS environment.

  • Strategic Grit: Proven experience navigating the "Infinite Game" of scaling technical teams through periods of organizational change and global expansion.

  • Data Fluency: A mastery of TA  metrics and the ability to translate complex data into actionable executive-level insights.

  • Executive Presence: The ability to influence and build rapport with C-Suite stakeholders and highly opinionated technical leaders.

  • Consultative Mindset: A track record of moving beyond execution to act as a true consultant on compensation philosophy, location strategy, and talent trends.

  • Human-Centric Leadership: You lead with empathy and candor, fostering a team environment where your team feels empowered to "Draw the Owl" and take risks.

The expected salary range* for this role is $160,000 to $200,000 to $240,000 CAD. There are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.

In addition, this role is eligible for variable pay that is based on company performance, with actual payout amounts calculated and paid on a quarterly basis.

*Our salary bands are designed to reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and to allow room for growth at Clio. For experienced individuals, we typically hire at or around the midpoint of the band. The top portion of the salary band is reserved for employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. Those who are new to the role may join below the midpoint and develop their skills over time. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
