Clio Earns 2020 Stevie® Award for its Response to COVID-19

This will be the sixth Stevie Award Clio will be taking home.

Clio, the leader in cloud-based legal technology, announced today it has been named the winner of a Bronze Stevie® Award in the Most Valuable Corporate Response category in The 17th Annual International Business Awards®.

“It’s a privilege to be honored for our efforts to support our industry during these challenging times,” said Jack Newton, CEO and Co-Founder of Clio. “As a previous five-time winner of Stevie Awards, we greatly appreciate the International Business Awards’ recognition of our company’s initiatives; we strongly believe that helping lawyers navigate this complex situation is just as important to our mission of transforming the practice of law, for good.”

The industry leader, Clio enables lawyers to be more client-centered and has earned the most 5 star reviews, the approval of over 66 bar associations and law societies around the world. As part of its ongoing efforts to help law firms navigate the complex difficulties of COVID-19, Clio launched multiple initiatives. In March, it established the COVID-19 Legal Relief Initiative – committing USD$1 million in direct financial support, access to Clio technology, and free educational and support resources. The company also partnered with the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association to help develop tech-first pro bono programs, and launched ongoing research into the impacts of COVID-19 on the legal industry to provide lawyers with deeper insights in the challenges they are facing, and how the industry can best adapt to the needs of lawyers and their clients.

The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and nonprofit, large and small – are eligible to submit nominations. The 2020 IBAs received entries from organizations in 63 nations and territories.

As the ongoing COVID-19 crisis will prevent winners from receiving their awards on stage during a traditional gala IBA banquet, winners will be celebrated instead during a virtual ceremony on Tuesday, 1 December.

More than 3,800 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Company of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Startup of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year, and Executive of the Year, among others.  This year’s competition also featured a number of free-to-enter categories to recognize organizations’ and individuals’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 250 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process from July through early September.

“Despite the unprecedented impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on organizations and working people worldwide, the number and quality of nominations we received in this year’s International Business Awards attests to the continued outstanding performance of many organizations.  The commitment we’ve seen through these nominations to maintaining the success, health, and safety of employees, customers, and communities is truly impressive,” said Stevie Awards president Maggie Gallagher.

Previously, Clio has won in the categories of Innovation in Customer Service – Computer Industries (2019), Best Use of Customer Insights (2019), Customer Service Department of the Year – Computer Software – 100 or More Employees (2018), Contact Center of the Year (Up to 100 Seats) – Technology Industries (2017), and Customer Service Leader of the Year – Computer Software (2016).
