Clio Announces Five Finalists for the 2020 $100,000 Launch//Code Developer Contest

Launch Code Twitter Social Asset

This year’s finalists include a focus on streamlining document production and archiving and monitoring short form and social communication.

Today, Clio, the leader in cloud-based legal technology, announced the five finalists who will compete for the title of “Best New Integration” and the $100,000 grand prize in the 2020 Launch//Code Developer Contest. Each finalist developed an innovative app integration for Clio Manage that helped legal professionals mitigate a challenge they face when managing their business and growing their firm.

The 2020 Launch//Code finalists include:

DiscoveryGenie: document production software that syncs with Clio to help litigators manage document collection, conversion, review and analysis, indexing, and production. By automatically storing evidence in Clio, the burden and expense of manual document production is eliminated.

Documate: legal document automation software that turns template documents and forms into simplified workflows, reducing the time it takes to generate document sets. In simplifying these workflows, lawyers are able to offer limited scope online services, deliver lower cost legal products, and collaborate virtually with clients.

FirmScribe: legal iMessage and text archiving software that auto-syncs selected workthreads from their Apple’s Messages or their favorite SMS app to Clio Manage. With no app to install, attorneys can assign a thread to the right matter in Clio from within their texting app to save time and ensure records are logged.

Kenect: a business text messaging platform offering bi-directional sync of contacts and text message history from Kenect to Clio. Within Clio, the messages are visible in the Communications, Contacts, and Matters views to increase efficiency, generate new leads, drive online reviews, and improve client satisfaction.

Novara Search: a social media search engine that allows lawyers to manage all of their client’s and case’s social media data from seven major social media platforms in one central custodian screen. Clio lawyers can quickly transfer selected social media content directly to a Clio Matter and Folder as Clio Documents.

The five finalists will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges at the virtual 2020 Clio Cloud Conference in October. Each finalist will present a four-minute pitch on their app’s innovation, impact, and business potential to a panel of industry experts. The winning company will receive the $100,000 prize, but all entrants who complete the necessary requirements and are approved by Clio will be featured in Clio’s App Directory, bringing their product to a growing community of over 150,000 legal professionals.

“Legal professionals need to continuously adapt to market needs. Right now, that means finding more efficient, profitable ways to run their law firms from anywhere—and taking their client experiences virtual,” said Jack Newton, Clio Co-founder and CEO. “We work best when we collaborate and share strengths with likeminded people who are shaking up the legal tech field. We’re thrilled to be working with the next generation of legal tech entrepreneurs to better serve lawyers and their clients.”

Founded in 2018, the Launch//Code Developer Contest is focused on creating the space and framework for digital innovations that serve lawyers and their clients in simpler and better ways.
